Bio

Erin Murphy, MD, first visited Homer on a camping trip with friends during college and immediately fell in love with the area. She returned whenever she could before eventually accepting a position in South Peninsula Hospital’s emergency room.

After residency, Erin joined Emergency Care Specialists and worked in several emergency departments throughout western Michigan, including Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, which serves more than 110,000 emergency patients annually. She is especially passionate about trauma care and currently serves as South Peninsula Hospital’s trauma medical director.

Outside of work, Erin enjoys camping, fishing, snowboarding, hiking, and other outdoor activities with her husband, three sons, and their husky-malamute mix. She is also an enthusiastic sports fan, particularly of the Detroit Lions, University of Michigan football, and women’s sports.
