South Peninsula Hospital is expanding access to same-day care with the opening of a walk-in Urgent Care clinic on June 1. Located at 4201 Bartlett Street, in the same building as the Family Care Clinic, Urgent Care will be open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. No appointments are necessary, and patients will have access to on-site labs and X-rays. Urgent Care will be staffed by Carrie Warren, FNP-C, who is moving from the Family Care team, and Kara Zimmerman, PA-C, who recently moved to Homer.
Community Resource Connect (CRC), a satellite event of Project Homeless Connect, is a free one-day event held at the end of January designed to connect individuals and families with local support and resources. The event brings together local organizations to provide essentials such as groceries, hygiene supplies, winter gear, and connections to support services. Over 30 agencies and vendors participate, offering health screenings, assistance with public programs, access to community resources, and more. In 2024 and 2025, CRC supported over 100 individuals in the Homer area.
This is a welcoming event for anyone who could benefit from support, guidance, or connection to services in our area. You can come to ask questions, gather information, and meet organizations that serve the Homer area and surrounding communities. Transportation assistance is available.
Thank you to the SPARC for their generosity in supporting and housing this event each year!
