Join Dr. Giulia Tortora of Homer Medical Center for an informative session that breaks down the meaning behind common blood tests and screenings. The event is Wednesday, October 21 at 5:30pm at the Kenai Peninsula College on Pioneer Avenue in Homer. This one hour presentation is part of South Peninsula Hospital’s weekly health talks at Wellness Wednesdays.
Whether you’ve participated in the Rotary Health Fair blood draw or just want to learn more about your health, Dr. Tortora will explain what each test measures, what high or low results may indicate, and why regular preventative screenings are so important. Participants will walk away with practical tips for understanding your results and taking charge of your health.
Doors open at 5pm and free soup is served. The program runs from 5:30 – 6:30pm, and following the presentation a few local providers will be on hand to offer free lab results interpretation from 6:30 – 7:30pm. Participants are also invited to stay for free gentle movement yoga, and all levels are welcome. For more information contact the hospital’s marketing department at (907) 235-0397.
