Bio

Born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado, Lauren Dorsey-Spitz, DO, was drawn to Homer by the opportunity to serve a small rural community with unique needs while embracing the adventure and beauty of the Alaska Peninsula with her family.

After completing her pediatrics residency, Lauren served as a faculty attending pediatrician at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs, caring for children in the emergency department and inpatient pediatric units.

Lauren strives to provide thoughtful, compassionate care during difficult moments of illness or injury. She values family-centered communication and building trusting relationships in an environment where children and families feel heard and supported. Her holistic approach to pediatric care also includes training in osteopathic manipulative treatment, which may complement care for a range of acute and chronic conditions.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys hiking with her two dogs, downhill skiing, beach walks, reading thriller novels, and cheering on the Colorado Avalanche.
