October 14, 2021The South Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area Board regular monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm, normally at the hospital, but until further notice on ZOOM. The Committee of the Whole will meet at 5:30 pm in a worksession. The public is welcome to attend both meetings. The ZOOM link is available on the Kenai Peninsula Borough website here.

South Peninsula Hospital, Inc. is non-profit organization governed by an 11-member board of directors which ensures the hospital is fiscally sound while maintaining the quality of care and types of services desired by the residents in the Southern Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area.
The board is an all-volunteer board, with members appointed to three-year terms upon completing an interview process by the board’s Membership Committee.
The Board welcomes and encourages community input for the direction of your hospital. Please plan to attend a meeting via Zoom (public comments are welcomed at the beginning and end of the meeting), or email a message to them at sphbod@sphosp.org.

October 29, 2021As part of the 38th Annual Rotary Health Fair, SVT Health & Wellness is offering a free one-day evening flu shot clinic in their Wellness building at 880 East End Road from 4pm-7pm on Friday, October 29th.This event is for adults only (18 years of age and older) and there will be high-dose formula for seniors available. 200 doses total will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.Please follow parking directions upon entering the parking area. -

October 30, 2021In cooperation with Homer Public Health and the City of Homer, South Peninsula Hospital will be offering a booster shot clinic by appointment only from 9am-1pm at the Homer High School (600 E Fairview Ave) on Saturday October 30th and Saturday, November 6th - links below to make an appointment after confirming your eligiblity.
Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna and Janssen COVID-19 vaccine booster shots are available under FDA emergency use authorization and CDC recommended for:
- anyone who is six months or more after their initial series of the Pfizer or Moderna series and are:
- 65 years and older
- Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
- Age 50 years and older with underlying medical conditions
- anyone who is at least two months after their Janssen vaccine
Boosters are also available to anyone who is six months or more after their initial series of the Pfizer or Moderna series based on their individual health benefit and risk evaluation for individuals:
- Age 18+ who are at increased risk for severe COVID-19 exposure because of their work or live in high-risk settings
- Age 18 years and older who are at high risk for severe COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions
Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some may have a preference for the vaccine type they originally received, while others may prefer to get a different booster.
